Phase 1
Tokyo — west
5 nights · tip: APA Hotel Hatchobori
✈
Apr 21
Arrival · Narita
Day zero — arrival
Most flights from Europe land at Narita in the afternoon or early evening. Narita Express → Tokyo (~60 min), then the metro to Hatchobori. Check in at the hotel (recommendation in the Places tab — check-in from 15:00; leave your luggage at reception if you arrive earlier). In the evening just a short walk — Ginza or the area around the hotel, dinner nearby. Nothing ambitious — your body thinks it's 3:00 in the morning.

Apr 22
Toyosu · Mitaka
teamLab + Ghibli Museum
Let your body wake up naturally (probably early). Breakfast at Little Nap Coffee Stand. At 11:00: teamLab Planets Toyosu — book a time slot online in advance (~¥5,600/person), weekends sell out. Allow 2–3 hours for the experience. Quick lunch in Toyosu (~13:30). Then the train to Mitaka (~40 min, JR Chuo Line). At 15:00: Ghibli Museum — tickets go on sale on the 10th of each month at 10:00 JST for the following month and vanish within minutes; set an alarm. Allow 2 hours. Dinner around Mitaka or back at the hotel — it's day one, save your energy.
2
Apr 23
Shinjuku
Shinjuku — tea ceremony and atmosphere
Morning: Maikoya tea ceremony + kimono (near Hanazono Shrine, 90–120 min — book ahead! ~¥6,000/person). Lunch nearby. Afternoon: Godzilla Road for the photo. Suica's Penguin Park. In the evening Golden Gai or the Kabukicho tower observation deck. Shopping (KOMEHYO, Map Camera) is pushed to the end of the trip — you don't want to haul purchases across all of Japan.
